A new video showing a happy, larger-than-life Glen Doherty is heartbreakingly sad to watch knowing how honorably he served America as a former Navy SEAL and how tragic his murder in Benghazi was.

Doherty’s mother, Barbara, gave permission to Fox News to release the video, perhaps because she’d like to remind President Obama there is nothing “phony” about her son, nor is the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi a “scandal.”

The video shows clips of Doherty during the 2009 filming of a reality series on NBC called, “The Wanted,” where Doherty was traveling the world with a group who was chasing “war criminals,” Fox News’ correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported.

Greta Van Susteren rightly pointed out that “we never get to know these people,” like murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods, who defended and protected the United States’ interests abroad.

“As time marches on, you almost lose their names,” she said. “They almost become ‘one of four who’ve been killed.’”

Which is why watching this video of Doherty is so important.

Griffin reminded at the end of the segment that not one, single person has been brought to justice for the Benghazi terrorist attack.

“There is a great deal of frustration in the community that is being asked to look for the Benghazi killers. They feel that they’ve had opportunities and missed opportunities that they haven’t been able to act on,” Griffin said.

Watch and remember a real American hero, Glen Doherty:
