A Yahoo News reporter made one heck of a Freudian slip in her Friday article about the cost of President Obama’s trip to Africa: she said Obama was born in Kenya.

It’s unknown if reporter Rachel Rose Hartman is actually a “birther,”as she is now accused of being.

Certainly everyone knows by now that Obama was born Hawaii. His birth certificate released in 2011 said so.

Huffington Post captured the original story in a screenshot.

“President Barack Obama makes the first extended trip to Africa of his presidency next week—but he won’t be stopping in the country of his birth,” Hartman’s original article began.

When that big-time oops was eventually caught, a correction was issued and the article was revised to read: “President Barack Obama makes the first extended trip to Africa of his presidency next week—but he won’t be stopping in his ancestral homeland.”

But the damage was already done.

Twitter exploded with the obligatory outrage, the obligatory comparisons to Fox News and calls for the “racist,” “bigoted,” “birther” Hartman to be fired:
