How does limousine lib Pelosi remain richest House member?

God has blessed them.

Occupy champion Nancy Pelosi and her husband, Paul, are worth at least $24.4 million, mainly from businesses that cater to the fabulously wealthy “1 percent” that her more ignorant supporters seem to think is the real problem in American politics.

nancypelosiThat kind of money makes Pelosi once again the richest member of the House, according to a Politico review of House members’ annual reports.

The scourge of the rich from San Francisco took in about $1 million in rent last year from a four-story commercial building in her home city, and another $1 million  from a resort they partly own, the Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, Calif.

The former Democrat House speaker gave a “God bless them” benediction to the Occupy movement during its 15 minutes of fame in 2011, but the Auberge du Soleil probably doesn’t have too many impoverished drum circlers on the grounds. Rooms at the resort’s new Maison Saint-Tropez feature, for instance, start at $1,325 a night, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Other fruitful investments for the couple were a home and vineyard in St. Helena, Calif., that brought in between $50,000 and $100,000, according to Politico.

And Pelosi is literally a limousine liberal. City Car Services, a limousine Massachussetts limousine company the couple has invested in,
brought in a minimum of $100,000, Politico reported.

The friends-of-the poor Pelosis raked in another $100,000 from an investment in Global Ambassador Concierge, with a website that
describes itself as “the premier executive concierge service in China and the United States.”

(That one’s not for the little people either, though it might give them work. “With services such as cultural guidance, translation,
private car, and personal assistant,” the company’s website says, “you can make the most of your travels and leave the worrisome details to them.”)

Commercial real estate. Ridiculously luxurious resort ownership.

Limousine companies and personal travel assistants.

The Democrats are the party of the poor?

That’s rich.
