Sarah Palin comes back swinging, attacks CBS

Sarah Palin returned to “Fox & Friends” in fine form Monday, talking about the IRS targeting conservative groups, discussing the blown National Security Agency’s monitoring program, and blasting a competitor as putting the “BS in CBS.”

Palin, who left as a Fox commentator in January, had a lot of ground to cover with the scandals that have struck Washington since the spring, when hearings over the attack last year on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, bled into the IRS scandal, then the leak of the NSA’s monitoring program.

sarahpalinOf all the scandals, Palin called Benghazi the most important in terms of its human impact.

“And with Benghazi, though, government lied and people died, so that’s very, very significant,” she said. “The other issues are government lied, and government spied. That’s pretty bad, too. But the Benghazi issue where brave, innocent Americans lost their lives in defense of our country, our freedoms, is quite significant because we still don’t have truth in regards to what happened there.”

The IRS targeting program, she said, was just more evidence of an “intrusive,” overreaching government, while the NSA program was a symbol of President Obama’s hypocrisy, since he excoriated the program while a senator and presidential candidate.

But the line of the morning came with her comment about CBS News London correspondent Elizabeth Palmer’s reporting that compared the slate of candidates for Iran’s new presidents with the American tea party.

“Okay, Elizabeth, you just put the BS in CBS,” she said. “It’s things like that that people hear and see and realize how out of touch the lamestream, the mainstream media is. To compare, really, the Iranian revolutionaries with those who are patriots in America and just want government to live within its Constitution?”
