One thing a Bush household knows about is a close vote.

It might be a 1-1 tie among the elder Bushes over whether Jeb Bush should run for president in 2016.

In an interview Sunday on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” the former Florida governor hinted that his parents are divided on the prospect.

Most of America knows how his mother, Barbara Bush, feels about it, since she said on NBC’s “Today” in April that though she thinks Jeb would be a great president, “the nation’s probably had enough Bushes.”

To Stephanopoulos, Jeb Bush indicated his father feels differently.

“I think we’ve got a split ballot amongst the Bush senior family,” he said.

The younger generation is more solidly in favor of a Jeb run.

In the April “Today” interview, Laura Bush said her brother-in-law should run. Her husband, former President George W. Bush, made no bones about his vote when he was asked about it in April.

“He doesn’t need my counsel because he knows what it is, which is ‘run,’” he said.

If Jeb Bush himself has decided, he hasn’t said yet.
