Breaking news on White House counsel’s….fab shoes

There is breaking news out of Washington Tuesday morning thanks to the remarkable investigative reporting by the Washington Post’s Juliet Eilperin: White House Counsel chief Kathryn Ruemmler has hot shoes.

Ruemmler, the woman being thrown under the proverbial bus for the White House’s disastrous handling of the Benghazi terror attack and the new IRS scandal, is best “known in the West Wing for her fabulous shoes,” the Post’s White House reporter Juliet Eilperin wrote.

Her shoes, Eilperin? Seriously?

Ruemmler is said to have advised the administration to stay quiet in the days after Benghazi and the weeks leading up to the 2012 election “out of fear [information] could be used against them in any subsequent investigations and other legal complications,” BuzzFeed reported last week. She also reportedly knew of the upcoming inspector general report showing how the IRS targeted conservative groups, but never advised the president about the misconduct, the Washington Post reported.

But, let’s forgive her because “she wears Manolo Blahniks and Christian Louboutins into the Oval Office.” Ok, under different circumstances, I might be inclined, but, no.

Eilperin’s hard-hitting investigation revealed that when Ruemmler was a Justice Department prosecutor trying the Enron case, the Wall Street Journal described her pretty shoes as “stunning 4-inch bright pink stiletto spikes.”

Eilperin, who either has a shoe fetish or feels bad Ruemmler is probably going to soon have no job to wear her awesome shoes to, wrote more:

One of Ruemmler’s pairs has a jeweled paisley pattern; another is black and strappy. We tried to get a photo from the White House showing one of these exceptional pairs; instead we got this shot of her in a senior staff meeting with the president, revealing a conventional pair of heels.

Needless to say, Twitchy had a collection of tweets about this nonsense from Eilperin:
