NBC “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno may be the only late night comedian willing to go after President Obama, and Friday’s show was no exception.
In his opening monologue, Leno said if Obama really wants to close the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay, he should “turn it into a government-funded solar power company,” Newsbusters reports.
He then names Carnival Cruises as a sure fire method to prompt confessions from the terrorist detainees.
The transcript:
“President Obama says he is renewing efforts to close Guantanamo Bay, which he’s been trying to do for five years. You know, if he really wants to close it, turn it into a government-funded solar power company. The doors will be shut in a month. The whole thing will collapse and shut in a month.
“You know, it costs a million dollars a year per prisoner on Guantanamo. You know what we should do? Put them on Carnival Cruise ships. Okay? It’ll be cheaper. They’ll confess like that.”
