The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) sent out a fund raising appeal Friday that went beyond the typical sensationalism used to separate fools from their money.
In trying to take advantage of tea party protests held last week at local IRS offices in response to the agency admitting it targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny, the email begins with this alarming message:
“At one Tea Party rally this week, mobs chanted “Waterboard Obama, Waterboard Hillary!
At another, radicals waved signs with Nazi symbols.”
Hide the women and children — and open the wallet — the tea party is coming!
The email is from Guy Cecil, executive director of the DSCC, who appeals to the targeted dupes to stand with him by “pitching in $3.”
When asked on Twitter to provide proof of his accusation, Cecil pointed to a New York Times article ran on Wednesday that referenced tea party members “waving provocative signs like… “I.R.S.S.” — the last two letters drawn like the lightning bolts of the Nazi SS.”
Clearly, the sign was designed to condemn the IRS. (AP photo)
And while evidence has yet to surface connecting President Obama to the actions of the IRS, critics claim that the scandal is a natural byproduct of the president’s scorched earth, Chicago-style politics.
After all, these are the disciples of Saul Alinsky that firmly believe the end justifies the means.
