Axelrod says government so vast, poor Obama can’t know everything

axelrodIs former White House senior adviser David Axelrod advocating for smaller government?

Axelrod, now a MSNBC political analyst, came to the defense of his former boss on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday, saying the federal government is so big that President Obama can’t possibly know everything that’s going on.

“Part of being president is there’s so much beneath you that you can’t know because the government is so vast,” he said.

Not exactly following in the footsteps of Democratic President Harry Truman, who kept a sign on his desk that read: “The buck stops here.”

It may also be the only time you will ever hear a “progressive” Democrat bemoan the size of government.

In the end, Axelrod seems to have lost his mojo since shaving his trademark mustache, as he spin just doesn’t quite make the grade anymore. It’s clear he doesn’t miss his old gig though, telling host Joe Scarborough, “I don’t envy my colleagues sitting in that building right now.”
