Bill Maher to Donald Trump: Redistribute wealth or risk getting kidnapped

After telling a story about a man who called 911 to get his power turned back on, Bill Maher noted on HBO Real Time on Friday, that when people are squeezed economically “they go all Django unchained.” He then suggested wealth redistribution was the way to go.

“If you’re rich you should be begging the government to redistribute your wealth, because you know what happens in countries where there’s a huge disparity between the rich and the poor?” Maher asked. “The rich get kidnapped. It happens 72 times a day in Mexico. Getting snatched out of your car is so common in South Africa that they actually make cars that do this.”

He actually showed a clip of a car that does it.

“Do you really think your trophy wife is going to empty out the Swiss bank account to save your sorry ass?” Maher asked. “I’m talking to you, Donald Trump. Think about it.”

This is the same Bill Maher that almost said his “fair share” was too much back in March.

Pointing at Virginia’s former Republican Congressman Tom Davis, Maher said, “You know what? Rich people – I’m sure you’d agree with this – actually do pay the freight in this country.”

“I just saw these statistics,” he continued, “I mean, something like 70 percent. And here in California, I just want to say liberals – you could actually lose me. It’s outrageous what we’re paying – over 50 percent. I’m willing to pay my share, but yeah, it’s ridiculous.”

Celebrity Net Worth estimates Maher’s worth at $23 million. Maybe Maher should be the one begging for redistribution.
