Members of DREAMers’ Moms, the parents of young illegal immigrants, were in Washington, D.C., Friday as a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the immigration reform bill was being held.
The group was there advocating for a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in America, to include a provision of the bill that would allow many who were deported for non criminal reasons to return.
A provision that is under fire from conservatives, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The activists, who calls themselves “Americans without papers,” caught up with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio as he was on his way to the proceedings, video taping the encounter.
The video is titled “Rubio Sweats Bullets when Confronted by Mothers,” but that’s an unfair assessment as the busy senator was very patient and did his best to answer the questions that were coming at him from all sides.
