Glenn Beck demands apology from ABC for inaccurate Bloomberg Nazi report

Bloomberg-NaziFormer Fox News host Glenn Beck is demanded an apology from the media for claiming that he depicted New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg delivering a Nazi salute during his keynote speech given Saturday at the National Rifle Association convention.

“I would like to call for an apology now by the mainstream media, particularly ABC News, for smearing my name and saying that I am making Bloomberg look like a Nazi,” Beck said.

Beck was mocking Bloomberg’s tyrannical behavior by introducing a new ad for New York City, complete with the slogan: “You will love New York.” With a special emphasis on “you will,” Beck satirically implies you have no choice.

LeninAnd while the imagery appears to be Bloomberg delivering a Nazi salute, in reality, it is based on Soviet propaganda — it is an exact replica of Joseph Lenin.

As Mediaite notes, Beck says that ABC News is getting its stories directly from Media Matters, and points out that it’s “weird” that the media does not appear to be as outraged by the reproduction of communist iconography from the 20th Century in spite of the murderous history of Soviet-style regimes.

“I’m sorry this looks to you like Adolph Hitler, but this was actually the exact image ripped off Soviet propaganda art – who also killed a lot of people, yes,” Beck said. “But you guys never seem to have a problem with Lenin. You never seem to have a problem with Mao. You never seem to have a problem with Stalin. Isn’t that weird?”
