Wasserman Schultz wags finger at GOP in Tally, lambastes Rick Scott

Debbie Wasserman Schultz knows how to win friends and influence people:

Be insulting. Be snide. Be threatening.

Who could resist?

Not content with making a hash of things in Washingon, the Florida Democratic congresswoman and chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee returned to the Florida Capitol on Wednesday to lambaste Gov. Rick Scott for his “utter lack of leadership” in the current stalemate over Medicaid expansion.

And this is something she agrees with him on.

In the state House, Florida Democrats continued to stall action Wednesday by invoking the power of one-third of the House to have bills read in their entirety before they can be discussed or voted on.

Then they deliberately held up debate, eating up time reading sections of the state constitution during floor “debate.” Meanwhile, Wasserman Schultz was on the other side of the Capitol in her normal attack mode, accusing Republicans of being “spoilsports, stomping their feet” until they “get their way.”

Stomping your feet is OK only for Democrats, in the world of Wasserman Schultz.

But while criticizing House Speaker Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, and his caucus, Wasserman Schultz was particularly hard on Scott.

“He’s sitting on the sidelines … you can’t have it both ways … Do we need to push him to be a leader? … We’ll need to elect someone else.”

Apart from the normal slings about “tea party” politics and “extremism” among Republicans, Wasserman Schultz had little specific to say about the party Floridians elected to majorities in the state House, the Senate and the governor’s seat.

“Will Weatherford should know better,” Wasserman Schultz said.

At least he knows better than to try to get on her good side.
