While the list of organizations behind the Stop the NRA March and protest against gun violence held Thursday appeared to be impressive, the crowd of people that actually showed up – not so much.
Participating organizations included Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio, according to the Washington-Examiner.
Crowd numbers were estimated at 60 to 100, depending on who was counting, with the higher number noted as a “generous estimation” by the Examiner, which also included media.
Shepard Fairey – the designer who ran afoul of the law when he created the famous Obama ‘Hope’ poster – debuted a new anti-NRA poster for the event, shown above right. He was not present at the protest.
