Coulter says new feel-good gun law will cause more dead children

With the Senate having voted for cloture and thus putting to rest any thought of a gun control filibuster, that was the primary subject when conservative pundit Ann Coulter appeared on Hannity Thursday night, and she was ready. Her guns were cocked and her powder was dry.

They started out on the Toomey-Manchin compromise — the bi-partisan background check hammered out by Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.

“This is so strange,” she said. “This is a bill everyone is talking about, and we can’t find [it].”

She blasted at Democrats for using the Newtown children as pawns to enact stricter gun legislation, predicting that their “proposals are going to lead to more dead kids.”

Rather than expanding background checks, Coulter emphasized expanding concealed carry laws and rooting out the mentally ill.

“It’s not a problem with guns,” she said. “It’s a problem with crazy people.”

When Hannity said the new proposals being advanced by the Democrats would do nothing to stop violence, Coulter said, “It’s worse than that. It will lead to more parents weeping over their children.”

Coulter brought up the CNN/ORC poll that BizPac Review questioned two days ago, indicating that 90 percent of Americans want some sort of gun control.

“Where is that poll? Can we see the poll?” which were the same questions we asked.
