What’s up with these gun polls, CNN?

Gun advocate Larry Pratt appeared on CNN’s “The Situation Room” Wednesday and got into a heated exchange with Wolf Blitzer, the show’s host.

Earlier in the day, Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Joe Manchin, D-W.V., worked out a proposal to expand background checks for gun purchasers. Afterwards, Pratt tweeted the following message:

“@ larrypratt
May Sen. Toomey experience in 22016 the same thing that he did to Sen. Specter in 2010.”

When Blitzer asked what he meant by this, Pratt explained, “It means that he ought to be held politically accountable, and the way to do it is in a primary.”

Eventually Blitzer brought up CNN’s current narrative — that 90 percent of Americans want Congress to enact gun control legislation.

“ think we already had a discussion about how credible those polls are,” Pratt replied.

After some back and forth about the CNN/ORC poll’s accuracy, Pratt finally said, “I don’t think they know how to ask the right questions.”
