Another member of Michael Bloomberg’s “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” is in trouble with law enforcement, with this case being perhaps the most extreme of all.
Jay Schiliro, the mayor of a small town in Pennsylvania, allegedly tried to lure a man into a sexual encounter back in March at the point of a gun!
How this was not splashed across headlines all over America is a mystery.
As reported in the Inquisitr:
James Schiliro, a.k.a. Jay Schiliro, the mayor of Marcus Hook, a small town in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, faces charges of official oppression, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and furnishing a minor with alcohol.
Schiliro, 38, allegedly ordered a local police officer to bring a 20-year-old male friend to his home, where the mayor plied him with alcohol, and made sexual advances which the man refused. Schiliro allegedly brandished several handguns and fired one of them into the floor in an apparent attempt to intimidate the young man, who reportedly was in fear of his life.
Is that a scandalizing headline in the making or not? And who keeps electing these people to office? But Schiliro has refused requests by town officials to step down, and he intends to continue to run in a May 21 contested mayoral primary, according to the Inquisitr.
Nonetheless, Schiliro was one of 600 mayors who recently signed a letter asking the U.S. Senate to enact tougher gun laws.
More hypocrisy from the left? Well, for the record, Schiliro is a Republican, which shows that progressive, big government disciples can come from either side of the aisle.
Other members of Bloomberg’s gun control coalition include Gainesville, Fla., Mayor Craig Lowe, who was arrested in March on charges of driving under the influence. Lowe finds himself in a runoff election on April 16 against Ed Braddy, who was featured recently in an editorial on BizPac Review.
Additional members and former members of Mayors Against Illegal Guns have previously been charged with felony corruption, assault of a police officer, and child sex crimes.
