Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey interviews Jim DeMint

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey had an exclusive interview with former Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina and discussed Demint’s new role at Heritage Foundation, where he replaced retiring long-time president Ed Feulner.

DeMint, who retired from the U.S. Senate in January, formally took the reins Thursday.

In an open letter to Heritage employees, trustees and supporters, DeMint said of conservative values, “We don’t need new principles. Our values have stood the test of time.”

“Dependency is a scourge eating away at our national fiber and undermining the values that made us a shining city to the rest of the world,” he added.
