Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who moonlights as the all-knowing Democratic National Committee chairwoman, appears to have been dragged into the skirmish concerning the “stomp Jesus” incident at Florida Atlantic University. Throwing her hands up in the air, Wasserman Schultz claimed she knew nothing of Professor Deandre Poole’s leadership role as vice president the Palm Beach County Democratic Party.

According to a Sun-Sentinel report:

Wasserman Schultz said she has nothing to do with local party leadership decisions. “I don’t represent any of Palm Beach County and the Democratic National Committee doesn’t have an involvement in the decisions about the leadership of a county party,” she said.

“At the end of the day, the First Amendment applies even when we don’t agree with the communication or the speech, and ultimately those Democratic Party positions are elected, and so that will be up to the elected leadership with the county Democratic Party in Palm Beach,” she said.

Wasserman Schultz was nearly trampled in the disclaimer stampede by Congresswoman Lois Frankel, who, although representing parts of Palm Beach County, also swore up and down that she didn’t know Poole was a party officer. It’s amazing how little these top officials claim to know of the local party leadership with whom they mingle, consult with and rely on for votes and local political information.

“I think it was an unfortunate exercise that he requested, but I’m going to stay out of the party politics here,” Frankel told the Sun Sentinel. “I’ll leave it to the party officials.”

Who is more important in Palm Beach County than the congressional representative of this area?  She is a key individual to consult with in all party matters. This area is her business locale.

You would expect some honesty and straight talk from local Democratic Party bosses. We’ve been led to believe that politicians have to set some example for us, right?
