Obama’s wealth redistribution not working, 50 million below poverty

In spite of all the “wealth redistribution” that has occurred these past four years under President Obama, the number of Americans living in poverty has spiked to levels not seen since the mid 1960s.

Granted, we must rely upon the British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail to inform us of this dismal reality that does little to give folks confidence in Obama’s suspect economic policies.

The Mail reports that as President Obama begins his second term, nearly 50 million Americans — one in six — are living below the poverty line, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. A family of four earning less than $23,021 a year is considered to be living in poverty.

The bureau said 20 percent of the country’s children are poor.

As has been reported on BizPac Review, out of an estimated 49.8 million students attending public schools in 2012, 31.6 million receive government subsidized lunches, be it “free” or on a reduced fee.

The total cost to the taxpayers in 2012 was $13.7 billion.

In was in the 1960s that President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society” social justice program moved forward — the goal was the elimination of poverty and racial injustice.

Since then, the federal government has spent trillions of dollars in the so called “war on poverty,” only to end up right were we started 50 years later.

With one major exception; a $16,798,794,560,316.22 national debt.

The focus of the Mail’s report is about the effects of sequestration on the low income — a premise that has been proven to be less than accurate — where it refers to the modest cuts as “austerity measures.”

Nonetheless, it adds to a favorable setting to support the class-warfare rhetoric coming from Obama as he continues to push for more taxes on the wealthy to pay for the out of control entitlement spending that ensures future generations of Democratic voters. The poor be damned.
