Obamas’ Jeremiah Wright style Easter sermon slams ‘captains of religious right’

While most us us listened to Easter sermons centered on the concepts of “rebirth” and “resurrection,” the Obamas were treated to a dissertation on the religious right keeping blacks, women and immigrants down. It must have been comforting to them — just like back home listening to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back…for blacks to be back in the back of the bus…for women to be back in the kitchen…for immigrants to be back on their side of the border,” Rev. Dr. Luis Leon said in his sermon, according to the White House press pool as reported by The Blaze.

During the service, Reuters reporter Jeff Mason tweeted that gays were also a part of the list:

“@ jeffmason1
Pastor at church Obama is attending says captains of the religious right want blacks at back of bus, women in the kitchen, gays in closet.”

There are probably few Christian churches as conservative as the Roman Catholic Church. It is, after all, the original, started by none other than Sr. Peter.

Perhaps the Rev Leon didn’t have his TV turned on this week to witness Pope Francis humbling himself by washing and kissing feet of women on Holy Thursday.

Nope, he didn’t see any of that. He was too busy trying to be Jeremiah Wright 2.0.
