Fla. Marine forced to remove American flag from home

A Florida Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq has been given a code citation for flying an American flag in front of his home after an anonymous neighbor complained.

“It’s disgusting that anybody should have to go through that,” Gregory Schaffer told Fox News. “I fought for the flag, now I’m paying for the flag.”

A representative from the Hypoluxo building department said the problem is the flag pole, which is considered a structure and requires a permit.

Schaffer is renting the house and would need a third-party contractor to resolve the issue – at a cost estimated at nearly $1,000.
