You won’t believe Biden’s single-day Paris limo bill

Over the weekend, we learned that Vice President Joe Biden’s hotel bill for two days during his February European trip was over $1 million. Now we learned his limo expenses approached a third of a million — $321,665 to be exact.

It should be noted that this figure is for the vice president’s Paris stay only — his one day Paris stay.

Just like the half-million dollar a night lodging bill, the limo bill was reported by The Weekly Standard. They, in turn learned of it from CNN’s “The Situation Room,” hosted by Wolf Blitzer. White House correspondent Brainna Keilar reported that expenses included “$321,665 for a limousine company in Paris as well.”

The $321,665 apparently didn’t seem out of line to government officials. The Weekly Standard reported:

As for the limousine to travel around Paris, the former advance official said that goes for the motor pool.

The vice president’s limo is flown in, but staff members on the trip didn’t take the Metro around. They’re not allowed to drive themselves and tend to book normal cars and drivers with the motor company-but don’t necessarily take limousines. The $321,665 figure in Paris sounded about right, that former official said.

I have a tip for the vice president and his security and advance staff. If you book your hotel and car rental together with your flight, you can save tons of money. Just saying.
