‘Fresh From Florida’ kicks off marketing campaign to boost state

A new “Fresh From Florida” marketing campaign launched Monday will run TV ads across the state to boost the Florida brand. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced the ads will feature fresh Florida seafood and produce, including recipes featuring grouper, shrimp, strawberries, tomatoes and more.

This will be the first statewide campaign for the “Fresh From Florida” brand.

“Some of the best foods are grown and harvested right here in Florida,” Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam said in a statement. “Our new ad campaign featuring seafood, fruits and vegetables demonstrates that fresh and local food takes just a few minutes to prepare.”

According to a statement from Putnam’s office:

Research indicates that consumers want quick and easy recipes to make healthy meals for themselves and their families. The recipes featured in the ads were developed by Chef Justin Timineri, Florida’s Culinary Ambassador, with this in mind. The ads, available in 15- and 30-second segments, prove that a fresh, healthy dinner can be on the table even on busy weeknights.

The commercials were made in collaboration with the state’s farmers, growers, fishermen and seafood harvesters. The four ads feature Florida Citrus and Honey Glazed Grouper, with a glaze made of fresh Florida orange juice, honey and soy sauce; Florida Gulf Shrimp and Sweet Pepper Stir Fry tossed with honey and fresh Florida orange juice mixed with tri-color bell peppers; Florida Corn, Tomato and Avocado Salsa with locally grown tomatoes, corn, avocado and a squeeze of lime; and Florida Berry and Citrus Salad with arugula, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, pecans and a hint of lemon juice.

Beginning today, the ads will air on major network and cable television stations in all of Florida’s 10 media markets: Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Gainesville and Panama City.

More ads and recipes from Chef Justin Timineri can be found at Fresh From Florida.
