Fox News’ Roger Ailes calls Obama lazy, left cries racism

As reported Wednesday, a forthcoming biography of Fox News chief Roger Ailes is raising eyebrows over comments attributed to the head of the popular news network.

The biography, by Zev Chafets, quotes Ailes as saying former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich is “a prick” and Vice President Joe Biden is “dumb as an ashtray.”

However, the comment getting the most attention is directed at President Obama:

“Obama’s the one who never worked a day in his life. He never earned a penny that wasn’t public money. How many fund-raisers does he attend every week? How often does he play basketball and golf? I wish I had that kind of time. He’s lazy, but the media won’t report that.”

Not surprisingly, CNN looks to far-left activist and former White House green jobs czar Van Jones to comment — he was forced to resign as Obama’s green jobs czar after his radical history was exposed by then-Fox News host Glenn Beck.

As the video below shows, CNN offers no context in setting up the commentary from Jones, who predictably claims it’s “a racial charge that some people find offensive.”

In calling Obama lazy, Ailes was responding to a summary read to him of the flap over Democratic operative Hilary Rosen’s comment that Ann Romney, mother of five, had never worked a day in her life.

And CNN did not show that Ailes clarified his comment on Obama being lazy by saying, “Obama said that, to Barbara Walters.” A reference to an interview with Walters where the president said he feels a laziness in himself that he attributes to his laid-back upbringing in Hawaii.

Jones also makes an improbable claim that GOP House Speaker John Boehner plays 100 rounds of golf a year, which goes unchallenged by host Wolf Blitzer.
