AFP Fla. to co-host ‘The Foundations of Liberty’ event in Fort Lauderdale

Americans for Prosperity-Florida is cosponsoring a daylong convention, The Foundations of Liberty, on Saturday, March 9 in Ft. Lauderdale.

Slade O’Brien, Florida State Director for Americans for Prosperity, released the following:

Part of the Foundation for Economic Education’s (FEE) Freedom Academy series, this event will be a fantastic way for young Americans to learn about economic freedom, liberty and the best ways to create widespread prosperity in our society. Student admission will be just $10, so please forward this invitation to anyone you think could benefit from attending. I’d also ask you to consider sponsoring a student if you know one.

Organized by FEE and the Lou Church Education Foundation, the event will feature speakers from around the state who are leading voices in Florida on the topics of liberty, free-market economics and political economy. Join us in Fort Lauderdale for a great event where you can meet other like-minded small-government supporters and here from a list of dynamic speakers.

Freedom Academy: Fort Lauderdale – “The Foundations of Liberty”, will be held at the Riverside Hotel, 620 East Las Olas Boulevard, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch will be included in the price of admission.

Speakers will include:

John Blundell, author of Margaret Thatcher: A Portrait of the Iron Lady, and his new book, Ladies for Liberty: Women who Made a Difference in American History. John has been a Visiting Fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a Distinguished Senior Fellow at London’s Institute for Economic Affairs.

Dr. Ann Rathbone Bradley, visiting Georgetown University professor and former Economic Analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The agency used her academic research that focuses on the political economy of terrorism with emphasis on the industrial organization of al-Qaeda.

Jonathan Williams is the director of the Center for State Fiscal Reform and the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), where he works with state policymakers, congressional leaders, and members of the private sector to develop fiscal policy solutions for the states. He’s had his work published in various outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Investor’s Business Daily.
