Michelle Obama’s dance spawns parody video

I’m cringing that the first lady of the United States of America went on Jimmy Fallon Friday night and danced. And not well, if you want my professional opinion.

The inevitable parody video is actually pretty funny, but isn’t it just wrong to be laughing at our first lady?

Why did Michelle Obama do this? The announcer said, “Ladies and gentlemen, in honor of the first lady’s ‘Let’s Move’ campaign, and to encourage parents everywhere to get up and get moving with their kids, we present to you the ‘Evolution of Mom Dancing.’”

As the audience howled with laughter, I had visions of the elegant and classy Jackie-O, the stern, but respected Nancy Reagan, the warmth and grace of Bush I and II, and even Hillary Clinton, who wouldn’t have been caught dead humiliating herself by dancing on late-night TV.

I understand wanting to appear young and hip and happening, but breaking out in bad dancing with Fallon, who was dressed like a woman, on national TV is just embarrassingly pathetic for a FLOTUS.

This parody version may make you laugh:

The original Fallon version may make you cry:
