Rand Paul: ‘The president is making stuff up’

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., didn’t hold back on criticism of President Obama’s sequestration scare tactics in a Friday appearance on Fox News’ “Happening Now.”

When asked by host Jenna Lee what his message would be to viewers, Paul let loose.

“I would say balderdash. It’s untrue, unfair, dishonest, disingenuous,” he said. “The president is making stuff up.”

Paul noted that while local taxes foot most of the bill for police and firefighters, Obama says they will be affected by the sequester.

“It’s not true. The sequester is a slowdown in the rate of growth of government,” Paul explained. “It’s the least we can do.”

NewsBusters accused the media of not telling the public the truth about “just how small these cuts are in relation to the size of the budget and the economy and therefore how inconsequential they’re going to be.”

  1. Interested Voter says:

Patriot – Senator Rand did not say anything about Israel and certainly nothing to provoke your anti-Israel rant. As far as racism, when we can ignore the race of people, that is when mankind will defeat racism. Anytime you see people pushing quotas, you see a true racist.

  2. Ben B says:

Fear mongering. Should have been with the Senate working out spending cuts in departments that have gross waste and non-allocated cash existing instead of campaigning his time away. No leadership here folks.

  3. Ben B says:

    Agree P.

  4. Ben B says:

adig- 51% of us elected him (not I), the mainstream media is in the tank for him, and the Democratic party did a better job of getting out the vote. We all must make the bed that we lay in.

  5. CB says:

Patriot – you truly are a schmuck! Your intellect as demonstrated o your ignorant diatribe is senseless and reeks of pure anti-Semitism. You use Israel as way to say "I don;t hate the Jews, just Israel" but continue to use the religion as an excuse for the ills of this country . If you want to see something damning, look at Islamic fundamentalism – read up on how many billions of dollars it has cost us and American lives due to that radical ideology. You are truly an individual that has no concept of analytical and critical thought. Go back to Storm Front!

  6. i for one can say with certainty that mr obama wanted this so he could have someone else to blame for why his economy is soo flat.theres no more blaming bush who waslame anyway by 07 and could not have done this if he had wanted to.i remember bush on tv in 06 with 4.5 unemployment i might add saying low down payments for housing would be good for the economy and then dodd and franky went ahead and had acorn parading around to force banks to give no downs for housing which as we all no was bad for the economy.sooo housing crash is on the dems then i remember mr obama on tv lying through his smile saying he was reducing reggs on bizz when in fact his epa added more than two hundred new reggs focing hundreds of bizz to go under and now qwe have 23 milllion or c sooo out of work and no sighn of them returning any time soon iether.its sad that our pres who was raised by a comunist and trained by marxists and hung with unapologetic bombers and anti american reverands is still in office pushing socialistic programs and not doing a thing to create private sector jobs only govt growing jobs.govt jobs cost the taxpayers and private sector jobs add taxes to the economy.it may well be time to start impeachment of our anti american pres and rejection of democrats who support bad polocies along with him.
