U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday and promised host Bob Schieffer that he will do everything he can to hold up the confirmation of the two remaining members of the president’s national security team until he gets more answers about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
“This White House has been stonewalling the Congress,” Graham told Schieffer. “And I’m going to do everything I can to get to the bottom of this so we’ll learn from our mistakes and hold this president accountable for what I think is tremendous disengagement at a time of national security crisis.”
The Senate already confirmed John Kerry to head the State Department. Still awaiting confirmation are Chuck Hagel for defense secretary and John Brennan as CIA chief.
“I want to know what our president did,” Graham said. “What did he do as out commander-in-chief. Did he ever pick up the phone and call anybody? I think this is stuff that the country needs to know.”
