Trump hosts GOP at Mar-A-Lago, shows big love for tea party

Donald Trump and his Mar-A-Lago estate hosted the Lincoln Day Dinner for the Republican Party of Palm Beach County on Thursday. Speaking at the event was talk show host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham.

Trump took time to share his political insights with Mike Williams from WPTV News Channel 5. When asked if he thought there would be a third party – and whether he would head it up – Trump gave a straightforward recommendation.

“No, I wouldn’t head it up, but the Republicans are going to have to get very smart or there is going to be a third party,” Trump said. “I am a Republican, but I believe strongly in the tea party, and I love the people of the tea party. I love many of the things they represent, and you know what? They love me.”

Trump also commented on immigration reform, the birther conspiracy and China’s impact on economic issues.

“We will soon have over $17 trillion in debt, a number no one ever dreamt possible. We are losing our economic power,” Trump said. “China will soon be the biggest economic engine in the world. We won’t be.”
