Fox News loses Sarah Palin, gains a Democrat

Sarah Palin wavesAfter three years working as a paid contributor on Fox News, former Governor Sarah Palin will not renew her contract, according to an article in Real Clear Politics.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors,” said Fox’s Executive Vice President of Programming Bill Shine in a statement to the New York Times.

RCP reported signs of a “rocky” relationship between Palin and Fox News appeared when Fox cancelled all of Palin’s interviews on the last day of the Republican National Convention in August. Palin posted on her Facebook page:

I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain.

“[Palin] remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion,” according to a source, RCP said. But the source “declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.”

Earlier reports said we’ll still see Karl Rove, at least through the 2016 presidential election, but Fox has added a Democrat. O’Dwyer’s reported Fox “signed former congressman and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich to be contributor to the network.”
