Perhaps it’s no accident the Geico Gecko speaks in a relaxed British-Aussie accent.
A Geico policyholder states that his policy was cancelled by the insurance company because he works in the “weapons industry,” according to a report in The Examiner.
A redacted “notice of cancellation of insurance” (see below) was posted on Facebook Tuesday that clearly states: “The reason for cancellation is your vehicle … does not meet our underwriting guidelines because it is used in conjunction with a company that deals in the weapons industry.”
The policyholder, who does not identify himself, left a comment under the name of the business he works for:
“Is this USA or Russia??? Geico Insurance just canceled my Truck insurance because I make parts that are used in the Firearm industry…Folk’s wake up to what is going on in this country…”
Readers may recall that Geico fired a voice actor in April 2010 for an insulting comment directed at FreedomWorks. Actor Lance Baxter left a message in which he asked the tea party affiliated group how many “mentally retarded” people it had on staff and what it would do when a tea partyer “killed someone,” as reported by the Washington Post.
