Sen. Feinstein vows to introduce assault weapons ban

Following a weekend of mourning for the small town of Newtown, CN, the national debate on gun control and bans on certain weapons dominated the Sunday news talk shows.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein told David Gregory on Sunday’s Meet the Press that she will introduce a bill to ban assault weapons in both the House and Senate on the first day Congress meets in January.

She adamantly said it was important to get “weapons of war” off the streets.

Feinstein was a driving force behind the original ban that lasted from 1994-2004.
