CA city attorney tells residents to ‘lock their doors and load their guns’

In what could be a sign of the times under a fiscal crunch, the bankrupt city of San Bernadino, Calif. has slashed public safety budgets and downsized the police force. As a result, Jim Penman, the city attorney of San Berdino, told residents to “lock your doors and load your guns” because they will have to start protecting themselves.

“You should say what you mean and mean what you say,” Penman said after being criticized for being “brutally honest.”

The city has already cut its police force by about 80 officers and residents are critical of the police department’s response time.

“I’m not advocating that people go out, who don’t have any training, and buy firearms. I certainly strongly caution anyone who has children at home not to have a loaded gun in the house,” Penman said.

“San Bernardino has seen a 50 percent increase in murders this year comported to 2011,” CBS Los Angeles reports

My mama always said, "you made your bed, now you have to lay in it", California is just showing us the path we (USA) are going to travel.

Charlie, thats right and its also said every new trend starts in California and eventually catches up with the East Coast first and then the midwest. Hmmmm, forget the East Coast. The liberals curse our Governor because we still balance our budget.

Mr Penman is right. Don't put yourself in harms way if you do not have any training in firearms. With that said, and the way I take it, get the training necessary and get it NOW! We The People have to look out for ourselves because our politicrats do not have our best interests at heart. If they did there wouldn't be any need to reduce the size of a police force except for the fact the they, the politicrats extort taxes from the Citizens that work hard for their money and give it to their constiuents that can not even spell the word work, along with the union thugs such as the City of San Bernardino has and is 90% of the cities problems, police included.

The council person (lady) said it correctly, " We (The People) have got to take our streets back. That needs to happen NOW.
