Ceasefire delayed while waiting for Sec. Clinton to arrive

When the ceasefire between Israel and Gaza militants was announced on Wednesday afternoon, Fox News’  Jennifer Griffin reported that it could have happened much sooner.

“It is interesting to note that Hamas and Egypt were ready to agree to this ceasefire agreement exactly 24 hours ago,” said Griffin.

The reason for the 24 hour delay was that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was en route, and still needed to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Griffin said it was “not clear what she gained in the process” as there didn’t appear to be anything added than what was agreed to prior to her arrival.

The final agreement was to begin at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Standard time on Wednesday.
