Geraldo calls GOP concerns about Benghazi ‘insincere, desperate, bloodlust’

On Wednesday evening, Fox News host Geraldo Rivera blasted the GOP in a series of tweets. He was upset over its criticism of the Obama administration’s handling of the raid on Benghazi, Libya which resulted in the murders of four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya.

Although he mentioned no specific names, the most vocal Republican critics have been Senators John McCain of Arizona and Leslie Graham of South Carolina, as well as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Rivera first raised his ire on Twitter by referring to Republican criticism as “bloodlust” and comparing it to U.S. Rep. Darrell Issda’s committee hearings on “Fast and Furious” and claimed that in both, “truth [is] not the goal.”

Rivera’s second tweet came five minutes later, and suggested that any thought that the four murdered Americans “could have been saved is [a] cruel myth.”

More than an hour later Rivera concluded his lambast by reminding everyone that “Life is not an action movie.”

Rivera should realize that in blasting the GOP over the Benghazi affair, he’s also blasting very respected members of his own network, including Greta Van Susteren and Brit Hume. Then again, maybe Rivera isn’t concerned about job security.
