In a report from Fox News this morning, Lt. Col. Andy Wood was named as the leader of a 16 member Special Forces security team stationed in Libya from February to September. The team’s mission was to protect U.S. personnel in that country and it was pulled out just one month before the deadly attacks on the U.S. embassy.
Wood is now speaking to the media, saying that it is “unbelievable” to him that the State Department pulled back on security in the region given the overwhelming evidence of possible danger and reports of prior incidents in the area which he presented to them during his time as the chief security officer.
Wood was subpoenaed to appear at a hearing next week to testify about the matter.
