Planned Parenthood celebrates the teenage slut

Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the largest purveyor of abortions in the country with 749 clinics to serve you, now proudly celebrates teenage “slutdom.” It had to come to that point eventually, didn’t it?

Let me say first that I’m not particularly fond of the word, “slut.” It’s not one I normally use, especially in mixed company.

Second, just because a young, unwed girl gets pregnant doesn’t make her a slut. On the other hand, the mere fact that a married, middle-aged woman may never have been pregnant doesn’t make her chaste. TheFreeDictionary.com defines slut as: “a. A person, especially a woman, considered sexually promiscuous. b. A woman prostitute.”

I learned in the last few days that Planned Parenthood had a Facebook page expressly for teenagers. That floored me. Teens aren’t supposed to be planning parenthood. They’re supposed to be planning after-game parties, school trips and senior proms. But that, as it turned out, wasn’t the half of it.

The Planned Parenthood for Teens Facebook page contains a link to an MTV Voices video narrated by someone billing himself “Professor” Francisco Ramirez.

In the self-appointed professor’s “Sextra Credit Episode 2,” Ramirez states that young men who are considered “studs” are looked upon favorably, so a girl teen who is able to explore her own sexuality with many partners should also be a good thing. He also states that “slut” wasn’t always considered a derogatory term. In the event you’re curious, his Episode 1 lecture was titled, “7 tips for masturbating in close quarters.” I swear, I was born either too early or too late. I’m not sure which, and I’m not sure it would make any difference.

At any rate, in my humble opinion, Ramirez is a complete moron, and I’m pretty sure that was always a derogatory term.

Ramirez’s mindset is clearly rooted in today’s “everyone gets a trophy” philosophy, wherein everyone is medaled for simply showing up. This is wrong.

Whether grunting and sweating on the gridiron or thinking on your feet in a debate hall, it takes practice, dedication and hard work to make the team, and it takes all that plus teamwork to win the game.

Similarly, teen sexual abstinence requires dedication and patience, and yes, that’s difficult, too.

Why should any young woman be proud to be a slut? For that matter, why should any young man be proud to be a stud? It’s a sign of nothing more than a lack of self-control. It requires no effort other than giving into one’s basest desires.

Look, I’m all for education. I believe education‘s deterioration bears at least partial blame for the nation’s ills. Our education system has been getting more skewed as it has come increasingly under federal control. Perhaps we should be concentrating less on political correctness and more on political science. We need more geometry and less gay and lesbian awareness. And finally, the moniker “slut” should not be worn as a badge of honor and pride.

The following video is “Professor” Francisco Ramirez’s lecture on sluts.
