A West Palm Beach group called Keeping Citizens First has launched a website that inventories Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher’s “blunders.”
The group lists as its registered agent campaign consultant Rick Asnani, who also happens to be the campaign consultant for Woodie McDuffie. McDuffie, a Democrat, is running against Bucher for elections supervisor in a contest to be decided on Aug. 14.
Bucher declined to comment.
Asnani, when reached for comment, admitted the website was being run on behalf of McDuffie supporters and emailed the following statement:
“Susan Bucher is failing to do her job as Supervisor of Elections. The lost ballots, declaration of wrong candidates in the Wellington election fiasco and her inability to provide results in a timely manner are embarrassing our county and shaking the confidence of voters in our electoral process. BuchersBlunders.com is a collaboration of community, business and neighborhood leaders who want to educate the residents about the missteps under Susan Bucher and to give people a chance to realize that we need a leader who will be accurate and accountable to the voters of Palm Beach County. Our elections are too important to leave in the hands of someone who doesn’t have the qualifications or training to get the job done.”
Disclosure: I’ve endorsed McDuffie for supervisor of elections in Jack’s Voter Guide.
