For years, during my visits to various medical offices, I’ve reached into the sloppy pile of old magazines and hunted for any issue of New York magazine in order to chuckle at its cartoons. Virgil Patch was one of my favorites. I could never get into any of the magazine’s articles, though. I found them too artsy and foolishly leftist. A recent issue reassured me that the publication has only gone downhill on an icy slope. “The Tsuris,” by John Heileman, was published in an issue with artwork on the cover depicting a yarmulke on what appears to be the back of Obama’s head. Tsuris in Yiddish means trouble, and the article spells trouble for Israel. Undoubtedly, the leftist crowd carrying the magazine in leather attaché cases headed to make “millions and billions” will eat this article up.
I pulled the piece up and just took notes as I quickly read its contents. I noted that in all eight pages, no mention was made of Palestinian terrorism, suicide bombings or of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ claims that he would never recognize a Jewish state. Also unmentioned was that when Palestine is eventually established, no Jew would be permitted to live or visit there. Yet, Israel is portrayed as the culprit throughout.
Netanyahu is referred to as “impudent,” “dishonest,” “craven” and as a “small-minded politician.” The glowing adjectives referring to Obama would fill my paper recycling bin. An email I received a few weeks ago says it all about the difference between Obama and Netanyahu: It had photographs of both at the age of 21. Netanyahu is armed and dressed in full military garb, and Obama is wearing what appeared to be a zoot suit, smugly smoking a joint. Not much has changed. Netanyahu has to deal with his citizens being ruthlessly killed by Palestinians without much concern from Obama or the world. The five members of the Fogel family, whose throats were slit by terrorists, were of such concern to Obama that his office issued a brief note of sympathy. But the cities that Israel builds on its own land deserve condemnation from the entire crew of Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, George Mitchell, Obama and Hamas.
The pressure is all on Israel to come to terms with the primitive Palestinians killing as ordered by their imams, who, from the holy Koran, preach death and destruction to Israel. And strangely enough, they do so from the mosques in Jerusalem and throughout Israel, where Muslims live quite the life under the democratic Israelis. And Israel is still the culprit! No Jews in Palestine, but lots of imams and mosques in Israel. No comment on this from Obama, who wants to deal “tough love” to only Israel.
Let me add my intense dislike for those Jews, elected officials and commoners alike, who no longer consider themselves Jews but have adopted the religion of “Democrat” to satisfy the need to show how different they are from “those grubby old-fashioned Jews of yesteryear.” Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson, a Democrat and a top guy here in Florida, claims that any Jew who feels Obama is not for Israel “is full of cr-p!” Enough said for the intelligence, clarity of vision and class of these people.
