“I’ve seen the lights go out on Broadway,
I watched the mighty skyline fall.”
Billy Joel, “Miami 2017”
On June 30, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton formally recognized the Muslim Brotherhood as a legitimate authority in Egypt. By this act, she drove yet one more dagger into the heart of Israel, and arguably degraded our own country’s national security.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s objective has been from the start aglobal Islamic state. Its goal is the complete annihilation of all non-Muslims and the worldwide application of Sharia law. The brotherhood differs from international terror groups like al-Qaida only in tactics, not goals.
Sound farfetched? Consider the words of Andrew Gilligan, the Sunday Telegraph’s London editor, who described one of London’s boroughs as a de facto Islamic republicunder the control of the Muslim Forum of Europe. This group “believes in transforming the very infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political order and its creed … from ignorance to Islam.” According to England’s Environment Minister Jim Fitzpatrick, the group is also infiltrating and quickly taking over Britain’s Labour Party.
It’s not just England that has been sounding the warning bell. Netherlands Member ofParliament, Geert Wilders has long been critical of radical Islam. He was recently acquitted of “hate speech” for making such remarks as, “The Koran is the Mein Kampf of a religion which aims to eliminate others and which calls the others – the non-Muslims – unreligious dogs.” After observing Europe’s cultural degradation over the decades, he felt compelled to warn the United States.
Here at home, dozens of “incubators” for jihad have been uncovered, and a large percentage of our mosques advocate or promote violence.
In response to this and a growing number of attacks by home-grown terrorists as documented by Catherine Herridge in The Next Wave, Congressman Peter King, R-N.Y., convened hearings on radical Islam in the House Committee on Homeland Security. In reply, President Obama called for religious tolerance, while Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, suggested we should more properly investigate “Christian militants.”
Religious tolerance? Islam’s bigotry toward all other religious groups, as well as its systematic brutality toward women, is well documented.
Any organization that advances the subjugation of women and is violently intolerant of anyone not sharing its belief system is no longer a religion of peace; it is a cult of hate.
What can we do? We can start by giving ourselves permission to openly speak the truth. When we can’t deal with one another honestly and directly, we lose the ability to problem-solve. When we’ve become so politically correct that we can’t even utter the phrase “Islamic terrorist,” the sky won’t just fall; it will come down with a crash.
