Will Israel survive?

Friday, I was given the honor of addressing a local Boca synagogue at their Erev Shabbos welcoming service. The topic was, “Will Israel survive?” I gave a short history of Israel and followed that with a plea for those in attendance to wake up to the threat of another Holocaust in the making. On May 1st, there will be a Yom Hashoah memorial service. My message was a clear one. Israel is being threatened as never before with the United States not even just standing on the sidelines, but actively participating in its demise. In this country, the Muslims are gaining ground in their plans to overthrow our Constitution and impose shariah law over the land. We only have to look at what’s happening in our universities, courts and in our media. All of these areas have been contaminated with and by Islamists, not all of them Muslim. The culprits are “Useful Idiots!”

Sadly, some of these dangerous individuals, or may I refer to them as, “Fifth Columnists” are to be found in the Jewish clergy. Rabbis! In Boca we have prominent rabbis who support J Street, Jewish Funds for Justice, Americans for Peace Now, George Soros and speak out for and defend, the local terror mosque; The Islamic Center of Boca Raton. I mentioned all of the above in my talk. No names, just street locations. I am, if nothing else, polite.

After completing my short talk, I sat down as part of the congregation until the end of the service. To conclude the evening, the rabbi took the pulpit and denounced me as a liar, a distorter of truth, and in addition cast aspersions on conservative Christians (I praised them) as dubious supporters of Israel. This was as shameful a performance as I have ever seen on the part of a rabbi and I have attended services since I was carried into my first shul on the shoulders of my grandfather. I was embarrassed for the congregation. But kudos to them. They took my hand, thanked me for speaking out and educating them on the history and current dilemmas facing the Jewish world and what actions we could take to help avert the catastrophes we are facing.

My message to them and to all of us is to wake up, learn from the past and start speaking out against those ignorant appeasers and cowards who are our radically infused religious leaders who are leading us astray. They may have more knowledge of Hebrew and the scriptures than we do, but it is we who have the common sense and responsibility to keep us free from Islamic intolerance and hatred.
