The year 2010 has come to an end and what better time is there to look back on who stood out, made a difference and set a positive example for his/her fellow Floridians.
This Top 10 list is focused on the political spectrum, as to be expected and is not all inclusive. The challenge is generating a top 10 list is that you will inevitable overlook a crucial name or include a name that will make others cringe. Which is what makes such lists fun!

Anti-gun activist and Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano has now put her distaste for both the First and Second Amendments on full display.
Napolitano’s victim over the Christmas break was Chris Liu, a commercial airline pilot based at San Francisco International Airport, who had been posting cell phone videos on YouTube that give first-hand accounts of what appear to be serious flaws in our nation’s airport security.

I am looking forward to taking the oath of office on Jan. 5. Now is the time for incoming members of the 112th Congress to make a difference for the people we were chosen to represent.
If we act selfishly or unethically, we will have failed our constituents and let them down. If we act with honor and conviction and in a transparent manner, we can restore credibility to Congress that has been lacking for the better part of a decade.
Twenty-first-century socialism in Latin America actually consists of five socialisms, as many as the countries that constitute that caudillo-led, anti-republican, chaotic and authoritarian little world.
They unite in anti-Americanism, in the conviction that individuals must be at the service of the State, not the opposite, in their contempt for the market and in the superstition that the caudillo knows exactly what benefits or hurts all citizens, but they’re very different.

Today, Carey Baker, recently acquired aid/consultant to Senator Haridopolos, announced through a FaceBook post that state Sen. Rene Garcia will be filing a statutory version of SJR-2 Health Care Freedom Act.
This announcement is a clear victory for the tea party movement in the state, which is now being recognized as one of the most active, well organized in the nation. It also indicates a strong show of respect toward the movement by state lawmakers.
