Internal GOP Polls Show Caveman Congressman Alan Grayson Down 16 Points to Republican Challenger Dan Webster…

A series of new GOP internal polls shows Republican candidates running away with House races in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington state.

The polls, conducted for the independent expenditure arm of the National Republican Congressional Committee and shared with The Fix, show Reps. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), Mary Jo Kilroy (D-Ohio) and Kathy Dahlkemper (D-Pa.) all down by double digits.

Grayson, a well-funded liberal firebrand in a swing Orlando-area district, trails former state Sen. Daniel Webster (R) 46 percent to 30 percent in an OnMessage poll conducted last week. Just 29 percent of voters say the freshman congressman deserves another term.

Democrat Says He’s Heard Pelosi Won’t Run Again For Speaker

A House Democratic lawmaker said late last week that he’d heard Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t seek another term as Speaker.

Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.) said that not only would he not back Pelosi (D-Calif.) for Speaker again, but also that he’d heard she would not seek another term in that position.

“From what we’re hearing, she’s probably not going to run for Speaker again,” McIntyre told WWAY-TV in North Carolina. “And if she does, I’m confident she’s going to have opposition, and I look forward to supporting that opposition.”

PRINCETON, NJ — Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is at 10.0% in mid-October — essentially the same as the 10.1% at the end of September but up sharply from 9.4% in mid-September and 9.3% at the end of August. This mid-month measurement confirms the late September surge in joblessness that should be reflected in the government’s Nov. 5 unemployment report.

Boeing Cites New Health Law As It Hikes Employees’ Premiums

Aerospace giant Boeing is joining the list of companies that say the new health care law could have a potential downside for their workers. In a letter to its employees obtained by the AP, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year. Boeing’s VP for human resources, Rick Stephens, wrote, “The newly enacted health care reform legislation, while intended to expand access to care for millions of uninsured Americans, is also adding cost pressure as requirements of the new law are phased in over the next several years.”

VFW PAC endorses Barbara Boxer?  Really?  Then, yes, it should be disbanded!

Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander-in-Chief Moves To Disband VFW PAC Over Anti-Military Endorsements

Last week, the Veterans of Foreign War came under scrutiny because their lobbying arm, the VFW PAC, had endorsed a number of candidates without a track record of supporting the military over actual veterans and those who have demonstrated they would be advocates for veterans. Highlights incude Democrat Ron Klein, who is running against Republican challenger Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Allen West Florida 22^nd Congressional District in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District and Senator Barbara Boxer over Carly Fiorina for Senate in California. As I pointed out at Blackfive, this is not the first year that the VFW endorsements have angered its membership. This time, when these endorsements were called into question, the VFW-PAC doubled down.

Today we learn, in what is a victory for veterans and those who support them, the Veterans of Foreign Wars commander-in-chief has moved to disband the VFW PAC over these endorsements.
