It would seem that Kosmas is in serious trouble, as if that surprises any of the residents of district 24.  Kosmas’ short stint as a Congresswoman may go down in history as the most irrelevant in U.S. history.

National Dems Cut Ad Time For Kosmas

A Democratic fundraising committee has cut in half the time it intends to advertise on behalf of U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas, a New Smyrna Beach Democrat locked in a tough re-election fight against state Rep. Sandy Adams, R-Orlando.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee originally had reserved time for the final two weeks of the campaign but now is scheduled to be on the air in the pricey Central Florida market for only the final week — at an estimated cost of about $650,000.

The move reflects several realities, which are here in no particular order.

It’s expensive to do TV advertising in Central Florida. With Democrats defending seats nationwide, the money for an extra week of advertising in Orlando could go further in more rural districts.

According to some polling, Kosmas is trailing – badly – and money spent on her behalf would be wasted. Democrats argue that the freshman lawmaker is rebounding, thanks to a couple attack ads against Adams, but she still could use all the help she can get.

Conversely, Kosmas had $1.28 million in her campaign chest in August and a major cash advantage over Adams. While outside groups have advertised on Adams’ behalf, Kosmas still has the edge and national Democrats may want to spend money on candidates who are less loaded.
