Alan Grayson's Character Deficit

Over the past year or so, we have seen millions of average, everyday Americans getting engaged in the political process through the tea party movement.  The actions of the federal government having become so destructive that it finally penetrated the wall of apathy that had settled around so many.

There have been so many sacrifices made in the often times futile process of trying to get our government to respect the will of the people.  Financial sacrifices, as well as time away from family and loved ones.  All in the quest to rein in an out of control federal government that is bankrupting the nation and burdening generations to come in the process.

A government that is dominated by radical, far left extremists that have little respect for the constitution, no faith in the free market system and a growing affinity for socialism.  A government controlled by individuals like Alan Grayson, Vice-Chair of the Socialist backed Democratic Progressive Caucus.

And Grayson’s opinion of these Americans that have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to uphold our American heritage?  The following description of these folks was sent out in an email today by his campaign;

“Isn’t it about time that someone told the truth about the Ridiculous Right? The berserk, bizarre, bonkers, crazy, delirious, demented, drooling, farcical, flipped-out, lunatic, off-the-wall, nutty, unhinged, weird and wild psychos, dullards and tools who have taken over the Republican Party?”

Keep in mind that Alan Grayson is referring to you!  Your family.  Perhaps, your mother and father, or your brother, sister, maybe an aunt, uncle or grandparent.  Possibly a fellow church member, best friend, co-worker or next door neighbor.

And this language is coming from a sitting United States Congressman!!!

As bad as this action is, Grayson has managed to outdo even this in recent campaign commercials against his FL-D8 Republican opponent, Daniel Webster.  In the first despicable ad, Grayson falsely calls Webster a draft dodger and questioned his love for his country.  He follows this commercial with a new ad comparing Webster to the Taliban and suggests that Webster wants to oppress women.

Dan Webster, being an honorable man, refuses to get down in the dirt with Grayson by responding to these outrageous, blatantly false and misleading statements, which is commendable.  However, the utter disgust that is felt by the residents of district 8 toward Alan Grayson’s actions is immeasurable!

The first instinct is to respond in kind.  Point out Grayson’s well documented history of being disrespectful to women.  Draw attention to his reference to the female lobbyist as a “K-Street whore”, or, go even further and talk about the persistent rumor that has been circulating about Alan Grayson slapping a female coworker a few years back – an action that reportedly resulted in him being committed to a mental institute for several days.

But, to do that, we allow ourselves to stoop to his level, which we won’t do.

What Grayson’s actions do indicate is that he will go to ANY length in his desperate quest to retain power.  He has proven over and over again that he is a man with absolutely no class and even less character.  Traits that he seems to relish.

The question we must ask is this;  is Alan Grayson a reflection of the people of Central Florida?

Regardless of your political ideology, whether you’re a Republican, a Democrat or even a card carrying member of the Communist Party, does honor and integrity mean anything to you?  Would you point to Grayson as a model for your children to emulate?

America today faces the most challenging times of our generation and this is no time for men like Alan Grayson.  We, as voters, must raise the standard for those who strive to represent us.  Our country got to where it is because the bar has been too low for too long.

Come November 2nd, we, as Americans, must send this dispicable man a clear message that character does matter!
