Yet Another Stimulus; Obama To Push $50B Infrastructure Plan

Powered by Topple

Obama-with-moneyEditor’s Note –  One question – what happened to all the “shovel-ready” projects that were part of the original $787 billion Stimulus Bill?

Do you think Washington, D.C. is listening to the American people who continue to call for an end to the spending?  This is nothing more than yet another Stimulus Bill to pump even more money into the economy in hopes of salvaging the mid term election.

Obama has spent more money in 18 months than every previous President from George Washington to G.W. Bush combined, with minimal results, yet, the only solution he offers is to spend more.  He is going to bankrupt America in quick order!

Yes, Obama says this $50 Billion plan will be payed for.  This is the same man that told you his health care reform plan would actually save money and that your insurance premiums would go down $2,500 a year.   How’s that working out for you?

Obama To Push $50B Infrastructure Plan

President Obama plans Monday to call for at least $50 billion in infrastructure spending geared toward roads, railways and runways.

The White House touted the plan as “a bold vision for renewing and expanding our transportation infrastructure – in a plan that combines a long-term vision for the future with new investments.”

The administration said over the next six years it plans to rebuild 150,000 miles of roads, construct and maintain 4,000 miles of rail and rehabilitate 150 miles of runways.

The infrastructure plan is expected to require $50 billion up front. “As with other long-run policies, the Administration is committed to working with Congress to fully pay for the plan,” the White House said in its statement.

The administration, coming off a disappointing 9.6 percent unemployment rate announced by the Labor Department on Friday, said the transportation plan would “jumpstart job creation.”

The plan also would include the establishment of an “Infrastructure Bank to leverage federal dollars and focus on investments of national and regional significance that often fall through the cracks in the current siloed transportation programs.”

Obama’s infrastructure push also includes a focus on high-speed rail and “a long-overdue overhaul of Amtrak’s fleet” and consolidation of more than 100 different transportation funding programs.
