He did it! Rick Scott has pulled off the upset of our time by edging out Attorney General Bill McCollum 46% – 43% for the Republican nominee for Florida Governor. In a very bitter race that was the most expensive in Florida history, Scott’s narrow victory now sets the stage to see just how enthusiastic the RPOF supports his run in November.

Many feel that McCollum did himself harm than good by engaging in such a negative manner in the ad war between the two.

The challenge remains ahead. Neither District 24 nor District 8 will be a cake walk. Regardless of your favorites the time for incremental differences is over. The time for action remains.

The ideological differences in the upcoming general election leave little room for fence sitters. I fully expect the undecided numbers in the polls to be minimal.

Although there may be some issues within, they are for another time and place.

With all results in, what was thought to be a tight race turned out to be no contest at all.

Dan Webster easily prevailed in the congressional district 8 Republican primary last night with 40% of the total vote. His prize? Mr. Webster has won the honor of being the individual who will replace Alan Grayson in November.

Most expected this race to be much tighter, although Webster was the favorite all along. Somewhat surpisingly, Kurt Kelly and Bruce O’Donoghue did not have a strong showing, which certainly contributed to Webster’s margin of victory.

With his poll numbers dropping rapidly because of his big government agenda, the President is now making shrill, desperate attacks on Americans for Prosperity and our 1,200,000 AFP grassroots activists across the nation.

The President is losing on the issues. Americans continue to be disenchanted with Obamacare, his uncontrolled spending habits, and vain attempts to pass an energy tax. This is why thousands of new activists continue to join Americans for Prosperity every day. President Obama can continue his attacks but that won’t change the fact that November is coming.

Many people, today, are either advocating or criticizing the socialistic direction of the current administration and its policies.

Increasingly, we are being uged with reports of new legislation which would give additional power to the federal government and remove much of the control traditionally held by the private sector.

In a capitalistic society, the imposition of federal authority into the governmental framework is being met with increasing skepticism and strong opposition.

And we’re down to the wire! With one day to go in the Republican primary race for governor, the poll numbers are coming fast and furious.

According to a Mason-Dixon poll released Saturday, Attorney General Bill McCollum leads Rick Scott 45-36 percent in a survey of likely Republican voters.

Then, Public Policy Polling released a survey last night that shows Rick Scott leading Bill McCollum 47-40 in the Republican race for governor.

According to local political activist Nick Egoroff, there is a disturbing report that Mike Huckabee was shopping his endorsement for the Florida Governor’s race.

In a blog that Egoroff maintains, he states that he was told by a Rick Scott campaign staff member that Huckabee contacted them with an offer for his endorsement.

A price of $250,000 was mentioned in this exchange.

Why is it that we keep finding ourselves complaining about one aspect or another of the federal government?

Whether you are a democrat who can’t stop “decrying the injustices perpetrated” by the Bush administration, a republican who can’t find anything good to say about the current Obama administration or an independent who thinks they should all be thrown out of office, the people of this nation are sick and tired of their elected officials not representing them.

Editor’s Note – If only we could see such results for the attacks from the political parties.

This poor sap’s problem is that he is not as well schooled as the political establishment in the art of covert operations and clandestine actions.

Oh well, as Forrest Gumps says, “one less thing to worry about”…
