I want you to know why I am supporting Todd Long in the Republican primary for Congress in District 8. Todd and his wife Ninette are Christians who believe strongly in the values and government principles of our Founding Fathers and President Reagan.
Todd is the only candidate in the race who stood up to the failed Republican Congress running against (and almost defeating) incumbent Ric Keller in the 2008 election. Since then, he hosted a radio show on 540 WFLA, The Conservative Comeback, featuring pro-life and other conservative leaders as he continued to fight for our Christian values.
He recently wrote a book The Conservative Comeback ( just delivered to 30,000 Republican primary voters) which set forth solutions to our national challenges based on our Christian values and limited government principles
Todd is also the only candidate in the race that has proposed specific solutions to our national challenges which he sets forth in his book. These include: the FairTax, a 12-point plan to balance the federal budget, free-market healthcare reforms, measures like E-Verify to help end illegal immigration, and economic growth policies which will create jobs and provide retirement security for our seniors. He also has term limited himself and will fight for term limits, to reform our broken Congress.
On June 12th, Todd led an historic rally at the Phoenix State Capitol to fight against illegal immigration and to show support for Arizona, which culminated a series of rallies he led in Orlando, Houston and Las Cruces. He has received the endorsements of Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona, as well as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity’s favorite constitutional conservative, Rep. Steve King (Iowa) and Steve Strang publisher of Charisma, the nation’s premier Christian publisher.
Todd also led a Religious Freedom Rally in Orlando to support some critical legislation needed to preserve our rights as Christians to speak out in public forums i.e., prayer in schools and enabling legislation for a Florida constitutional amendment to allow Christian parents to receive vouchers or tax credits for their children to attend a faith based school rather than a public school.
Finally, Todd fought alongside Rep. Michele Bachmann in Washington, D.C., against the Democrats’ healthcare bill and with our doctors in the Million Med March.
As a result of his passionate fight and the specific solutions Todd has set forth, a Zogby Poll gave Todd a double-digit lead in the Republican Primary.
These are some of the reasons I am supporting Todd Long for Congress in the Republican primary on August 24th.
