Grayson Promises Netroots A "New New Deal"

fullsail_cermony_281f1-575x270Editor’s Note – Alan Grayson shows his idiocy once again, only this time it’s not nearly as humorous as his usual juvenile antics because these misguided notions stand to have an adverse effect on all of our lives.

Applying the typical arrogance and misunderstanding of history by the Harvard educated ruling acedemia, Grayson promises a “new New Deal”.

‘What are you going to do for me?’

News tip for Grayson, there are still Americans that belief in self reliance, Americans that are not standing at the trough of the federal government with their hands held out.  A shocking revelation, I’m sure.  And, we are quickly becoming the minority in this country, thanks to politicians like Grayson that are working overtime to create this dependency class.

Another news tip for Grayson – The New Deal failed.  Massive spending on public works programs didn’t erase historic unemployment.  It didn’t produce a recovery.  Average unemployment for the whole year in 1939 would be higher than that in 1931, the year before Roosevelt captured the presidency.  It is widely understood that WWII pulled this country out of the Depression, not the New Deal.

Many of Roosevelt’s signature programs dealt with revamping government structure rather than job creation.  Sound familiar?  Between 1933 and 1939, the New Deal had resulted in nearly a doubling in federal spending and a 60 percent increase in the number of civilians working for the federal government.  So, in that regard, Grayson and the Progressive Left are delivering.

For those still not convinced of the failure of the New Deal; “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.”  The words came from none other than Henry Morgenthau Jr. — Secretary of the Treasury to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Elections have consequences, and the consequences of this past election is that America elected a class of politicians that are clueless to the effects of the free market, of what creates jobs and stimulates our economy.  The first step in correcting this error is to send Alan Grayson back to the ‘hallowed halls of Harvard’ in November, where he can do little damage to our daily lives.

Grayson Promises Netroots A “New New Deal”

By Philip Klein
The American Spectator

LAS VEGAS — In a lunch speech to Netroots Nation, Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida mocked Tea Party protesters, Glenn Beck, and Clarence Thomas, and promised another New Deal.

Grayson opened his speech sarcastically, as if he were addressing a Tea Party.

“Greetings angry protesters,” he said. “Let me see the tea bags dangling from your skulls. Let us genuflect toward Glenn Beck’s TV studio. And now a moment of silence to show our sorrow that Democrats passed health care reform for all America.”

Grayson has become a darling of progressives for making inflammatory comments about conservatives, but this has left him more vulnerable back in his home district, which is much more moderate.

“Let me tell you what every election is about,” he explained. “Every election is about 309 million Americans asking the question: ‘What are you going to do for me?’ And that’s fair. That’s what democracy all about.”

He went on to outline an agenda for “working people” that included making it easier to unionize, and guaranteed paid sick leave and paid vacation.

“We need to have paid vacation,” he declared. “Why? Because we are not slaves.”

More relevant to this election, he said that, “People want to know what the Democrats are going to do for them, and people are afraid of what Republicans are going to do to them.”

During his talk he took a jab at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

“We promise people a workplace where they won’t have to face discrimination, unless, of course, the EEOC is being run by people like Clarence Thomas,” he said.

In closing his speech, he announced that, “What we’re promising people is a new New Deal.”

For those who can’t get enough of our entertaining Congressman, here he is in Las Vegas this week, pandering to the far left wing nut base, and further lining his warchest – all the while, as Central Floridians continue to struggle in the economic mire that Alan Grayson has helped create.
